Massage School > Qualification Levels
 For for anyone considering a career as a massage therapist,
the intermediate (Level One) is a prerequisite
and
this
training is ideal for anyone considering working in a home based clinic or a holistic
treatment centre.
Training covers health, safety and massage techniques based on
Swedish and Holistic therapy and include pulsing, relaxation and
therapeutic massage, energy healing, chakra balancing, customer care and
business management.
If you are a person wanting to work at sports med or as part of a medical
practice team, this training will give you the basis of a practice and you may
need to pass state exams in anatomy and physiology.
Introductory Certificate Course
A 12 hour introductory course often held as a public evening class over 6
weeks, a personal seven hour program or correspondence course.. Details

Level One Certificate Course
For those who have achieved introductory certificate or other training.
Equivalent to the short diploma courses as offered by the Brandon
Raynor, the School of
Aesthetics, polytechs and similar institutions, this program prepares you to
commence your own home massage business or to work in an existing clinic, spa, resort,
or medical center.
The program covers health and safety, massage
mediums, massage techniques, customer comfort, care and business

Course Two & Beyond
Applicants must have passed intermediate (level one), have practiced for at least six
months and wish to consolidate and learn
new techniques. This training - up to 100 hours entitles one to apply to
accept ACC client referrals. Details on

Like many other industries massage is certificated
by the state owned monopoly known as the NZQA. We are not affiliated
or connected with NZQA in any way and yet our massage certificates
are accepted by ACC and many clinics around the world. |
