In this section of the site I discuss some of massage tables used by myself and
associates over the past 30 years.
In choosing a table where price is the determining factor, I have
experienced many cheap wobbly and squeaky tables, or tables with badly shaped face holes
that are uncomfortable for the client. However the quality of manufacturing has
improved as has the quality of the components used in manufacturing so you can
now get a very good table for a reasonable price, and excellent table that will
last a lifetime for a good price, but at the end of the day, a cheap table may
need to be replaced within a year or so.
My current table is a 700mm wide
luxury model purchased in 2002 and after 6 years with
daily use is as good as new although it will creak a little as the load settles

My secondary

starter table
with a face hole which is adequate for most treatments and it is the table I
most often travel with.
Choosing your table
How you choose a table depends on several
factors other than price. Will it have heavy or light use, will it need to travel, or will
it be setup permanently in your massage room?
Face extensions or face holes?
A face hole in the table is better for a smaller room, however a tall persons
feet may hang over the end of the table. A face extension can provide customer comfort and ease
for treating neck problems.
