Massage Stones for Hot and Cold Stone Massage
These natural basalt stones are used around the world in health clinics and
spas. The stones can be heated, ideally in hot water but an oven can be used.
The stones can be used 'dry' or with oils within many massage systems.
Note, stones should never be heated in a microwave oven.
The best heat is
gained using a hot water bath.
The stones come in various shapes and sizes but are hand picked for
specific functions. They range in colour from dark shades of green, grey or
black and may have some speckles. Each stone will have or take on its own
energy. When oil is applied, the stones they take on the characteristic dark to
black shiny colour as seen in hot stone massage books and information sheets.
