Philosophy
Staff at The Quiet Mind Body Shop have a simple philosophy of peace and goodwill
to all:
It is the philosophy of yoga where the Earth is and all of life is sacred.
Peace in the world will only come when individuals find inner peace.
We support organic principals and oppose
genetic and nuclear technologies in our environment.
True healing comes from within.
Its one thing to wonder
why, but surely its more important to ask; how can we continue?
We are destroying our environment and ourselves as profits dictate the shape
of our lives. The naturalists have little say or influence in this modern
world where it seems that the 'devil' is in total control of churches,
states and corporations and as a consequence the suffering of humanity is
worsening for the majority.
The Oldest Science Of Humanity
The study of who we are has been the domain of the shaman, the yogi and the
natural healer, those people versed in nature who have a strong desire to
perpetuate the human species. The technology of this old science is claimed
and patented by modern science, yet the sustainable systems living and healing
are shunned.
Trying to find a working model
In proposing answers for our problems, the ruling society needs expensive think
tanks and conferences and grand ideologies that are little more than hot air
as they are stifled by other powerful interests and despite the token moves
toward solar power and world peace, energy sufficiency and peace are distant
dreams.
The holistic model
We live in an infinite universe on a finite world, we inhabit the vehicle we
call our body, so our body is our ground, our temple without which we cannot
enjoy our earthly existence. Our bodies also help us to connect with the earth
and the life of our planet.
However we live, we must honour the body and the person, abide by a system of
supportive social and political ethics instead of paying lip service to them
and adopt sustainable lifestyle choices, not only for today, but for all time
and heaven may once more return to earth.
-
Our leaders must be philosophers with long term human survival at heart.
-
Corporations must adopt sustainable clean practices
-
Debt and bondage must be abolished.
-
Churches must not interfere in the relationships between people and the
divine.
-
People must become aware and responsible
Understanding Origins:
For all our inventions, for all our thinking, we do not yet have anything
more than conceptual models as to why and how the universe created?
The Pacific people have a theory of the
universe creating itself from an idea in motion, in their most sacred of chants:
FIRST PERIOD (thought) From the conception the increase, From the increase the
thought, From the thought the remembrance, From the remembrance the
consciousness, From the consciousness the desire
SECOND PERIOD (night) The world became fruitful; It dwelt with the feeble
glimmering; It brought forth night; The great night, the long night, The lowest
night, the loftiest night, The thick night to be felt, The night to be touched
The night not to be seen, The night of death.
THIRD PERIOD (light) From the nothing the begetting, From the nothing the
increase, From the nothing the abundance, The power of increasing The living
breath It dwelt with the empty space, And produced the atmosphere which is above
us...
