Conversation on History
k- We have a lot of history, we walk through a 2 thousand years museum every
day! But Italian economy (and economy of my company) is getting worse!
D - From our history comes our future and our economy is getting worse because
the world is being run by economists, though my mother enjoyed visiting Rome and
Roman history is very interesting.
k - You think so? that's true!
D - Yes, I am more of a humanist, people before profit
k - I agree with you. Is it the same in NZ? I went to Australia in 2002 and
situation was better than in Italy.
D - Yes, the country is managed by "do gooders" but based on the international
model and the same problems exist here but they are less visible to outsiders as
are there are fewer people. Our modern world is in a sad state, that's why there
are so many wars and corruption.
k - Prices rise up and salaries are the same from 1999. I can't afford to buy a
flat in the suburb of Rome!!! and I'm lucky because I have a good work. Here, a
flat of 50square meters: 200.000 EU in suburb!
D - I think the solution is to form a co-operative to own property.
k - Richard Heinberg and Benettazzo....they say there will be an '29 again soon
- 1929 the year of world financial crack! The chrisis of '29!
D - Perhaps in 2012
k - Why 2012?
D - this is the year when civilization is forecast to end, doomsday theory.
k - I have never read about it. What do you mean with that?
D - See http://www.NostradamusOnline.com
k - But I cannot believe that! well...it's strange.
D - People need something to believe in, the belief in democracy is failing, the
belief is growing that if solutions are not found, civilization will end.
k - Do you know what democracy means? demos = people "cracy" = power so power to
people, but people don't know to have the power to change things. Conscience is
not wide open to all, so this is the problem.
D - The people are being continually being disempowered and democracy is not
working. Solutions to the worlds problems are so simple, it is a matter of
stopping what we are doing now, forgiving each other and beginning again
k - We live present, thinking about future but never studying the past.
D - Anarchy is the best but will only work when every person is in agreement -
Impossible may be but the absolute answer
D - I think in Rome about year 600 there was a forgiveness and restart, but they
resumed the old games.
k - mmm I think there isn't a solution.
D - Not without the will of all the people.
k - Every time, in a circle way, we do same mistakes.
D - Yes, and it is the same in our personal relationships, like a big mirror,
hence the concept of Karma, cause and effect, as we think so we become...
Meditate on the state of mankind and the world.
k - I think (but I don't know how) planets can influence our mind....but TV
more.
D - They are useful in providing a fresh perspective on life
k - TV is the worst thing in a house!
D - Used wisely it is a great educational tool
k - I would like to be there to learn something from you.
D - In time I will write a book about this. The best advice I can give is to
study yoga, meditate and contemplate the world.
k - Interesting, what can you do with yoga and meditation.... which are
advantages?
D - yoga and meditation take you into the heart of your own being
k - and it is easy?
D - yes and no - it depends how much of a fight the ego creates
k - What do you mean with "contemplate the world"?
D - Look at the world as though it is something you have never experienced
before, have no opinion - no attitude other than curiosity
k - I'm too courios, like to take photos and create/generate emotion with them.
D - Art is good, Zen Buddhism is very interesting - one strives to achieve a
state of no mind, it can alter perception
k - Yes I can feel something of that!
D - One book I often recommend is "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahamsa
Yogananda
k - Alter perception...looking through the reality and take something special.
D - yes, maybe similar to dreaming
k - Yes, I'm interested about yoga and what you said to me last time.
D - it's a big subject
k - yes I know
D - the best way to start learning is to attend classes and to read
k - but there should be a beginning to a have a while and an end! :)
D - true
k -yes, but here there are a lot of telling stories but fews are good teacher.
k - so I don't know how to choose the good one.
D - it's like in all fields, you have to sort the "wheat from the chaff"
k - so trying I'll find it!
D - separate fact from fiction,
k - mmm I'll try
D - the basic truth is that we exist
[k - :)
k - the basic truth is that we exist .....the "where" is important too! :)
D - beyond our animal existance, everything is avstract yet defines our humanity
D - abstract
k - do you know the book of Stuart Wilde - The sixth sense?
D - I know the author but have not read that book
D - I enjoyed "life is not meant to be a struggle"
k - So you like that author?
D - yes, I attended one of his lectures, he makes good sense
k - really...so I have found a good one! :)
D - I think his writing helps to sort out the mind stuff that we get caught up
in
[k - :) - ok
D - have you heard of Osho?
k - no, why?
k - I can't find "life is not meant to be a struggle" in italian.
D - You can look him up on the web, he is an interesting
contemporary/controversial teacher
D - possibly out of print now
k - internet is a good library! :P
D - Thought for today: we are conscious beings and beyond our perception is an
ocean of consciousness, we individuals are drops of consciousness in that great
ocean
k - someone says that if all people of the world think of good things with
intensity, world can get better.
D - yes, an experiment was done in New York, 200 people went to a high crime
area of the city and meditated for 2 weeks, over that time, the city officials
reported a significant reduction in crime
k - now someone wants to sinchronize a world orgasm!
D - I heard about that,
k - that's strange but...funny.
k - :)
D - orgasm is the highest spiritual experience for many people
k - yes, they say that. So this is the reason of the experiment.
D - yes, it should lighten every one's mood, most people feel better after good;
food, sex, exercise or meditation :)
k - I'm reading about Osho. It's interesting. "C'č solo un modo in cui dio
sarā in grado di trovarti, ed č quando fiorirai nel modo in cui lui aveva
desiderato. Se non scopri la tua spontaneitā, se non scopri di che cosa sei
fatto, non puoi essere felice." or " There is only a way that give to God the
possibility to reach you.........If you don't find how you are.....you cannot be
happy." Here a good pilot used the pranayama to make a record....fly with a
glider over the Everest!!!!. I'm talking about Angelo d'Arrigo.....the
Eagle teacher.
D - Yes, enjoy your your reading and remember; "everything is sacred and nothing
is sacred" and life is what you make it. I have to work now, Bye ;) | |
